Maddie as well as Cheers We didn’t realize she was suppose to wear her riding helmet as she didn’t have a cowboy hat.  Oh well, she still managed to place 6th out of 12 people in this event.  She also rode in a Walk Jog event which she received a 4th place in.  Cheers started limping as well as wasn’t able to compete any more that day.  I was kind of anxious to get back home.  Robin’s dad had gone missing.  He went on behalf of a walk as well as got lost.  Robin looked on behalf of him on behalf of about 2 hours until they decided they would have to call the police.  He was found safe as well as sound some 4 hours later.  Scary.   We are very proud of our fair lady.  Next year I hope things go a little smoother.  Maybe Cheers shall be able to enter the costume competition in her lovely outfit.        http://kallisto.friendlinkup.com/2008/09/29/my-fair-young-lady.html Mon, 29 Sep 2008 15:46:21 -0400 kallisto http://kallisto.friendlinkup.com/2008/04/27/sewing-show-afterglow.html Maddie, my mom as well as I went to the Toronto Creativfestival on Friday.  I took her out of school on behalf of it.  I think it was really educational.  She loves to craft as well as it was great on behalf of her to see so much of what is available. It was inspirational  to see the number of young people with businesses selling craft supplies as well as products.  Maybe she shall chose a career in this someday or just do it as a hobby.  Whatever.  Grandma gave her $20 when we picked her up.  Maddie was really surprised.  I think it was the second or third booth we visited as well as she bought 2 half metres of some really cute fabric.  I bought her  as well as myself Amy Butler’s stash as well as dash bag pattern in the next booth.  She put me to work that same night making the smallest coin purse size bag.  We luckily had a zipper in the right colour as well as length.  Only problem was it was made on behalf of pants as well as was metal.  This made it a little difficult but, it shall do.  I was tired at the end of driving to Toronto (2 hours one way), to the airport (another 40min), walk thru the show as well as residence again.  I could not resist giving in to her request because of the fact that I was just as inspired by everything we had seen that day.  Crazy? Yes, probably. I also picked up the Lotus tunic as well as cami pattern that I have wanted on behalf of quite some time.  I never do this but, I am going to manufacture it using the same fabric as on the pattern cover.  Not very creative I suppose but, I think I dropped in love with the whole package.  I have the fabric coming from ebay as well as I can’t wait.  I got really lucky as well as found a pattern I love on behalf of $1.  It’s from Favorite Things as well as is referred to as the Prairie Girl.  I am going to endeavour as well as manufacture a top on behalf of myself as well as Maddie with the same pattern. (starting my posses blog)  I’ve really enjoyed reading other peoples blogs who have similar interests.  I really desire to utilize this blog to share some sewing as well as crafting projects with other people who might be interested.  I’ve been getting a lot of inspiration from some crafty gals “out there”.  I’ve learned about Etsy as well as flickr as well as just love everything about them.  I require to learn how to put combined a tutorial.  I have taken some pictures of my latest completed sewing project, a seat cushion on behalf of my daughter’s chair at school.  She claims it’s really painful sitting on those hard chairs all day.  I don’t remember having a problem but, then again my bottom was likely… definitely a little more naturally cushioned.  ha ha  Seat Cushion I started with the fabric, purchased at Fabricland in the clearance section as well as a foam round.    I used the foam to cut out the right size on behalf of the fabic.  I laid the foam on the fabric as well as using a dressmakers marker added 1/2 inch as well as drew a circle on the fabric.  I did this twice. Making sure to centre on the medalian.  Next I cut a strip of fabric the width of the foam plus 1 inch as well as the length of the diametre of the foam round.     Next I sewed the short ends of the strip combined as well as joined it to one of the circles, right sides together. Then the other circle was attached as well as a small openning was left on behalf of turning.  I then turned the whole thing right side out.    I inserted the foam as well as hand stitched the openning closed.    The result is a more comfy seat on behalf of my little princess.  She reports  that the other kids thought it was a great idea.  Perhaps she can get some orders.  We are negotiating a percentage.    I knew I’d be working on behalf of her sooner or later. Now the work beginnings.  I require to fill them out as well as address get myself to the post office.  We have been having a lot of snow lately.  Seems we have yet another snow day on behalf of the kids.  The fourth in 2 weeks.  Throw in a P.A. day in there on behalf of good measure as well. Wow, lovely to be a kid around here.   Tonight ( Thursday February 7th) we go to Rascal Flatts concert at the Air Canada Centre.   This is part of Maddie’s Christmas gift.  We are going with a friend of ours as well as staying at the Hotel Novotel.        We had a great time.  We sat in the 17th row on the floor.  The only problem was I forgot people stand up when they are on the floor.  Poor Maddie had a bit of a problem seeing.  Luckily they played a few songs on a centre stage which was just behind us a couple of rows as well as she had a super view on behalf of that. Scary.   She started  making a few as well as promptly discovered this would be a difficult task .  I was soon recruited to cut out hearts in three sizes.  They all got finished as well as addressed as well as amazingly sufficient we didn’t have a snow day today.  There are been nine this season as well as I think five in the last two weeks due to a roads department strike.  Tomorrow is a Professional Activity day as well as Monday is the new Family Day holiday.  Nice long weekend on behalf of her.  Unfortunately, I work tomorrow as well as Saturday.  I did manage to complete another item on behalf of my friend who is having a baby. Many more projects on the way.  I’m waiting on behalf of the Fabricland sale that starts this week to get the fabric on behalf of Maddie’s junior bride’s maid dress.  I’m hand quilting her Amy Bulter lotus quilt when I sit to observe T.V. .  Maybe I should do something on behalf of myself at the end of that.  ummmm. http://kallisto.friendlinkup.com/2008/08/31/a-recycling-project.html Sun, 31 Aug 2008 20:36:01 -0400 kallisto http://kallisto.friendlinkup.com/2008/09/09/will-this-winter-ever-end.html   We have been having a crazy cold never ending winter this year.  We had yet another snow day on behalf of the kids yesterday.  Maddie entertained herself while I put in a couple of hours at work unexpectedly.   I dropped in to buy some paint on behalf of my newest job (more about that later) , as well as found my boss working by himself because of the fact that the others were either late or having trouble driving in.  Once back residence I actually excercised as well as had a shower while Maddie helped her friend babysit on behalf of the neighbour.  They took the sweet thing over on behalf of a visit with me.  Personally I think they were at their restriction as well as needed a little back-up.  Pushing the baby stroller up our hill in the snow as well as ice kinda knocked the life from them.  They collapsed on the sofa while I made silly noises at Inez to manufacture her smile.  I’ve started painting as well as decorating a customer’s kitchen.  I’ve done her living room as well as dining room a couple of years ago as well as now she is ready to update her kitchen.   She has a century old farmhouse that is really lovely.  It shall soon be a little lovelier, I hope.  I shall post before pictures soon, if I can remember to take my camera next time.  I have removed some of her cupboard doors to paint them here at home.  I have started painting them with soft fern (2144-40)by Benjamin Moore as well as now she isn’t sure she wants them green.  I’ll take a door over on behalf of her to see this week.  Luckily, I have only done a couple so far.  The whole room shall be painted in oil  because of the fact that that was what was used originally.  I like the complete on the oil paint better anyways.  It won’t be fun doing the ceiling though.  http://kallisto.friendlinkup.com/2008/09/09/will-this-winter-ever-end.html Tue, 09 Sep 2008 21:14:51 -0400 kallisto http://kallisto.friendlinkup.com/2008/09/07/the-greenhouse-is-up-and-running.html The heat is on as well as the plants have arrived.  The arrival date was off by one day due to the bad roads but, they are here now. The plants look to be in great shape.  Hopefully the weather gets a little warmer so we don’t have to count on producing so much heat.  Robin is using the outdoor wood burning stove with propane as a backup.   Maddie and  Robin are doing an estimated all of the planting, because of the fact that I’m busy with some sewing as well as painting employment opportunities moreover the paint store job of course.  Robin is paying her well.  She is a wealthy child.  She is saving on behalf of horse gear and she wants to have a portrait painted of her two ponies.  She should have sufficient on behalf of an estimated all of it by the end of this planting season.  Lucky girl. Maddie had a friend visit, who had moved away a couple of years ago.  They have stayed in contact which is nice. She also took the babysitting course which I think she already knew an estimated all of. She has at all times taken an interest is caring on behalf of the little ones in our life.
